Student Testing and Receiving Center
S.T.A.R. CENTER
The Round Rock ISD S.T.A.R. Center is an assessment office for recent immigrant and migrant students who are English Language Learners.
The S.T.A.R. Center will collaborate with parents, district personnel and community stakeholders to empower the immigrant and migrant student with the language and skills necessary for academic and social success.
The S.T.A.R. Center is located at Round Rock ISD's Central Administration building, 1311 Round Rock Avenue in Round Rock. Families of students are referred to the center through their home campus, district referrals, other families, and or community organizations. Upon completion of the enrollment and assessment process, students return to their home campus with information which will assist school personnel with academic program placement decisions.
A variety of services are provided by the center in collaboration with other District programs and partnerships with community agencies. A few of these services include: sharing information on immunization clinics, nutrition and ESL classes as well as providing information to access services provided by the City of Round Rock. All services provided are free to families.
Our goal is to ensure that immigrant and migrant students successfully transition into RRISD schools and community and achieve high academic performance.
