 FAQs

Q: How can students determine what information is reliable on the Internet?
A: Students must learn to evaluate information based on timeliness, authority, and accuracy of the resource. Perhaps the best way to do this is to use reference books and subscription online databases that have met strict selection criteria, such as those provided by the school libraries.

Q: How can students access information from home?
A1: Each campus library distributes a Research Resources information sheet that includes the user logon and password information required for home access to subscription databases.
A2: Staff and high school students within the RRISD Google domain may access a list of user logon and passwords. NOTE: recommended browser for accessing Google.docs is Chrome.

Q: What kinds of resources are available?
A: RRISD provides online periodical, reference, newspaper, current events, educational testing, college reference, electronic books (e-books), and encyclopedias in several languages.
