Gesch named assistant superintendent

Robbin GeschRobbin Gesch has been selected as the new Round Rock ISD Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Support. The appointment was announced by RRISD Superintendent Dr. Jesús H. Chávez and approved by the Board of Trustees during Thursday night’s meeting.

Ms. Gesch joined Round Rock ISD in September of 2004. Currently, she serves as the Director of Student Support Services and College/Career Readiness, where she directs Career and Technical Education, High School Academy Programs, Guidance and Counseling Services, Gifted and Advanced Academic Services, Health Services, Teen Parent Programs, After School Programs, and General Education Homebound Services. Since joining the District, she has also held the positions of Lead Elementary Language Arts Curriculum Specialist and Director of Curriculum. Gesch also serves as an Associate Curriculum Auditor for Curriculum Management Systems, Inc., where she has participated in curriculum audits for various districts, including Tupelo, Mississippi and Fort Worth ISD.

Ms. Gesch’s previous educational leadership experience includes serving as the Executive Director for Curriculum, Assessment, and Federal Programs in San Angelo ISD. In this position, she directed the development and maintenance of the District’s curriculum, Assessment Program, Guidance and Counseling Services, Special Education Program, Gifted and Talented Program, Bilingual/ESL Programs, all federal Title Programs, Career and Technical Education, and Head Start and Early Head Start Programs. Before being promoted to this position, Ms. Gesch served as a teacher, elementary, middle school, and high school counselor, Guidance Specialist, and Director of Guidance and Counseling in San Angelo ISD.

Gesch’s holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and Reading from Texas Tech University, and a Master’s in Guidance and Counseling from Angelo State University. She holds the following educator certifications: Counselor, Elementary Reading (Grades 1-8), Elementary Self-Contained (Grades 1-8), and Driver Education (Grades 6-12).
