Catherine Hanna, a twenty-year resident of Round Rock ISD, was elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2010. Hanna is a strong believer in public education in general and Round Rock ISD in particular. Hanna believes that Round Rock ISD will continue to provide the highest quality public education in Central Texas through strong leadership, innovative business and community partnerships, and committed and enthusiastic parent involvement.
Hanna has been actively involved in Round Rock ISD schools as a PTA member and volunteer. She has served on the Round Rock ISD Council of PTAs Executive Board and also serves on Texas PTA Area 6 Board as a Legislative Representative. Hanna served as a co-chair of the District’s 2008 Citizen’s Board Committee and the Classrooms 4 Kids Pac that worked for passage of the 2008 bond. Hanna is also a member of the City of Round Rock/Round Rock ISD Community Task Force.
Hanna and her husband Arthur have two daughters who attended school in Round Rock ISD.
Hanna received her law degree from Stanford Law School in 1988 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University in 1984. She is the managing partner of Hanna & Plaut, LLP, an AV-rated law firm in Austin, Texas. Hanna is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, the Austin Bar Foundation and the Travis County Women Lawyers Foundation. Hanna is also a charter member of the Task Force for the Austin Young Lawyers Association’s Women’s Resource Fair, an annual event aimed at providing medical and legal services to homeless women and women experiencing domestic violence.
