Ian Byrd was the guest speaker at our April 11 Parent Seminar

Topic: Gifted Students – Not Just Smart Kids.

Gfted students are often reduced to just "smart" kids. This simplification ignores many interesting aspects of giftedness, including increased levels of moral awareness, unexpected sensitivities, and unique personality types. In this seminar, we will explore some of these less obvious traits of gifted students.

For more information you can visit the website, www.byrdseed.com/rrisd

Dr. Tracy Cross, President Elect of NAGC (National Association of Gifted Children) led a Parent Seminar on April 4.

Practical Advice for Guiding and Supporting the Development of Gifted Children

Raising happy, successful children is a goal of every parent of gifted children. In this presentation, Dr. Cross will offer advice and encouragement for parents as he provides an in-depth look at the complex social and emotional issues faced by gifted children. Parents will walk away with a deeper understanding of their gifted child along with ways to support and guide their development to encourage success and happiness.
