About the RRISE Program
The RRISE Program is made possible through a federal Teacher Incentive Fund grant that was awarded to the district to help strengthen the academic performance of seven, high-need campuses. It is a data-based model of school improvement fueled by a multifaceted evaluation system for teachers and campus administrators that considers multiple measures of professional performance. The program emphasizes the placement and retention of effective faculty members at Anderson Mill ES, Berkman ES, Bluebonnet ES, Robertson ES, Voigt ES, CD Fulkes MS, and Hernandez MS while continuously increasing educator quality through comprehensive evaluation and feedback, targeted professional development, and incentive awards for improving student performance and one’s professional practice.

The RRISE Program offers professional development that is highly targeted towards each participant based upon formative observations by the Observers for Professional Growth, discussions with the Master Teachers and Principal Coach, observations drawn from the Appraisal by Collaboration Action Research Project, and results of student standardized testing. The RRISE Program utilizes in-district, out-of-district, and on-line resources to provide professional development. However, the chief method of delivery is through the Master Teachers and Principal Coach, who provide highly individualized professional development through coaching. Each of the seven RRISE campuses has a Master Teacher who works closely with teachers based upon feedback from the resources listed above. The RRISE Principal Coach works in a similar fashion with RRISE campus administrators.

Program Objective
The RRISE Program provides a system of support and incentives for campuses to facilitate:

  • Increased student achievement based on standardized assessments
  • Increased teacher retention
