The Wells Branch Elementary School Explorers will begin the next school year as an Arts Integration Academy (AIA) and has unveiled its updated arts-aligned branding.
The updated logo, colored with shades of blue, green, black and white, includes elements of music, theatre and art, along with a spyglass to signify the campuses’ identity as the Explorers.
Wells Branch students, parents and staff worked with Round Rock ISD Graphics Coordinator Zac Colquitt to develop the new logo. Through branding forums, the community discussed the cornerstones of being a Wells Branch student and designs of the logos. The new logo was ultimately chosen through an online voting process.
“The Wells Branch community is excited to transition into an AIA, as we have the opportunity to expose students to a wide variety of arts strategies in our classrooms,” Wells Branch Principal Belinda Cini said. “Our community worked collaboratively to choose our new logo and we are proud to move forward with our updated identity.”
Arts integration is an approach to teaching based on the belief that learning is actively built, experiential, evolving, collaborative, problem-solving and reflective. Through the AIA model, students at Wells Branch will demonstrate their understanding of academics through an art form. Students will engage in a creative process, which connects an art form and another subject area, meeting evolving objectives in both.
