RRISD, USDA serve FREE meals to kids this Summer

Round Rock ISD and the District’s food service provider ARAMARK Education, will be offering lunch at no charge to all children age 18 and younger at 11 Round Rock ISD schools as part of the Summer Nutrition Program. The Summer Nutrition Program, in conjunction with Texas Department of Agriculture, offers free nutritious meals to all children 18 years of age and under.

“Childhood nutrition is a year around need,” said Kelly Grones, Round Rock ISD food service director. “The meals we prepare and serve provide a positive impact on fighting childhood hunger in our community.

Round Rock ISD is offering free summer meals at the following schools Monday through Friday starting June 6 through July 14, closed July 4 (serving times are subject to change).

Elementary Schools:
June 6 – June 21
Double File Trail Elementary School
Meal service hours: Breakfast, 7:40 a.m. – 8:05 a.m. Lunch 10:30 a.m. – noon, and
Live Oak Elementary School
Meal service hours: Breakfast, 7:45 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. Lunch 10:30 a.m. – noon
Adult meals are unavailable.

June 12 – July 14
Gattis Elementary School  and Jollyville Elementary School
Meal service hours: Breakfast, 7:30 a.m. – 7:50 a.m. Lunch 10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Adult meals are unavailable.

Middle and High Schools:
June 5 – June 21

Hernandez Middle School and Early College High School
Meal service hours: Breakfast, 8:00 a.m. – 8:25 a.m. Lunch 11:30 a.m. – noon.
Adult meals are unavailable.

High Schools:
June 5 – June 30

Round Rock High School, Stony Point High School, Cedar Ridge High School, Round Rock Opportunity Center, and Success High School
Meal service hours: Breakfast, 8:00 a.m. – 8:25 a.m. Lunch 11:30 a.m. – noon.
Adult meals for purchase: breakfast: $2.25; lunch $3.50
