Texas Theatre Association x RRISD

Round Rock ISD has been named a 2025 “District of Distinction – Exemplary District” by the Texas Educational Theatre Association (TxETA), marking the district’s third consecutive year of recognition and its first year achieving the top-tier rating.

The TxETA Awards of Distinction recognize school districts, campuses, and theatre departments across Texas for their commitment to raising the standards of theatre education through excellence in achievement, resource development, diversity, and arts advocacy.

In addition to the district-wide honor, several Round Rock ISD campuses were also awarded for their outstanding theatre programs:

Middle Schools of Distinction – Exemplary Program

High School of Distinction – Outstanding Program
Stony Point High School

All award recipients will be formally recognized at the 2025 TxETA conference, scheduled for September in Arlington.

“I am extremely proud of the work happening across our theatre programs—from elementary through high school,” said Tim Lowke, Director of Fine Arts - Visual Arts. “This recognition speaks to the creativity, dedication, and advocacy of our teachers, students, and staff who continue to elevate theatre education throughout the District.”
