Mark Gabrylczyk has joined Round Rock ISD as the district’s executive director of Special Education Services. Gabrylczyk brings more than 22 years of experience in campus, district and state education leadership, most recently as the executive director of Special Services in Odessa, Texas. 

Gabrylczyk began his career as a 1:1 paraprofessional for a medically fragile student and taught special education students for nine years. He will lead the district’s Special Education Services Department, focusing on supporting students receiving special education services. 

He said he’s excited to continue his special education work with Round Rock ISD. 

"I am excited to join the Round Rock ISD family and work alongside our dedicated staff and families to support student success,” Gabrylczyk said. “I look forward to building on the great work already happening across the district and ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential."

He joins the district from Ector County ISD, where he has served as the executive director of special services since 2023. His role focused on supporting staff, programming, compliance and related student needs. Prior to his time there, he served as the Director of Accountability and School Performance at Midland ISD and as the Assistant Superintendent/Chief of Staff at Rapid City Area Schools in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Gabrylczyk holds a bachelor’s degree in science, special education and physical education from Idaho State University, a master of education degree in education administration from Idaho State University and an education specialist degree in education leadership from the University of Idaho, Moscow. 

His first day with the district was July 6.
