Three Round Rock ISD students have been recognized with the Texas Theatre Scholar Award for the 2024-2025 school year. Texas Thespians bestow this honor on theatre students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement alongside their theatrical involvement.
Amari W., of Round Rock High School, and Orienne C. and Lorynna P., of Stony Point High School, earned the distinction after meeting or exceeding the award’s rigorous criteria.
To be designated as a Texas Theatre Scholar, students must be enrolled in school, maintain good standing in their campus theatre department, and actively participate in theatrical programs. Additionally, recipients must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, meet any additional local criteria set by their theatre program, and exhibit behavior and character that reflect positively on their school and community.
Director of Fine Arts – Visual Arts Tim Lowke congratulated the students on their accomplishments.
“We are incredibly proud of Amari, Orienne, and Lorynna for earning this prestigious recognition,” said Lowke. “Their dedication to both academic excellence and theatrical artistry exemplifies the well-rounded talent we strive to cultivate in Round Rock ISD. This honor reflects their hard work, passion, and commitment to their craft.”
Texas Thespians, a statewide organization supporting theatre education, recognizes students who excel academically while actively contributing to their school’s theatre program.
