Round Rock ISD celebrated its annual Back to School Celebration on Saturday, Aug. 6, with more than 5,000 students and families who filled the Stony Point High School campus to kick off the new school year.
The event, sponsored by the Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation and Texas Children’s Hospital provided students with the opportunity to receive free vaccinations, eye exams, hearing exams and entertainment throughout the day.
“Round Rock ISD is excited to kick off the new school year and so thankful for our community partners who came out to provide resources for our students,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Hafedh Azaiez said. “It was heartwarming to see thousands of students and families in person enjoying the event.”
More than 200 community members volunteered at the event which included bounce houses, face painting, live entertainment and photos with the Round Rock ISD Police Department.
“Because of the support of our community partners, we were able to offer eye exams, hearing checks and vaccinations to our students,” said Rachael Sefton community partnerships supervisor. “It was fantastic to see so many smiling students excited to begin the new school year.”
