Round Rock ISD communicators were recognized recently for excellence in school communications, taking home multiple Gold Star Awards at the 2025 Texas School Public Relations Association Star Awards.
Communications Coordinator Ashley Ruiz earned three Gold Star Awards in her first year with the district.

earned top honors in the Writing category for districts with more than 40,000 students.

Videographer Dustin Rogers also won Gold Star Awards for outstanding visual storytelling. His video “Exploring with digital microscopes” won Gold in the Video – News Package category, while “Kindergarten students offer advice to the class of 2024” won Gold in the Video Feature Story category, both in the more than 40,000 students division.
Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez said the awards underscore the importance the district places on clear communication and highlighting student and staff achievement.
“Our students and staff are doing amazing things every day, and our Community Relations team is there at every step to help share the great news,” said Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez. “We’re so proud of the team’s hard work and dedication to our district. These awards are well-deserved.”
The annual TSPRA Star Awards program honors outstanding school communications achievements across Texas. Submissions are judged by division size and evaluated by communication and community relations experts on clarity, creativity, and impact.
