Round Rock ISD has once again been named a Texas Art Education Association District of Distinction, marking its seventh consecutive year earning the prestigious title.

The recognition places Round Rock ISD among the top 1.3% of visual arts programs statewide and one of only 16 districts to receive the award every year since its inception.

More than 1,200 districts were eligible to apply for the 2024-25 cycle. Just 109 earned the distinction, which honors outstanding leadership in arts education through a 14-category rubric that assesses curriculum, student participation, community engagement, and more.

“This recognition is a direct reflection of the hard work and creativity of our visual arts educators and students,” said Tim Lowke, director of fine arts–visual arts. “We are proud to be among the few districts that have consistently demonstrated leadership in promoting the arts throughout our schools and the community.”

Round Rock ISD celebrates this continued legacy of excellence in visual arts education.

“We appreciate every member of our visual arts faculty for their dedication this year and look forward to building on this success,” Lowke said.
