Executive Director - Bond Projects

Round Rock ISD welcomes Mike Brooks to the Bond team as the Executive Director of Bond Projects. He previously served the district as the Director of Maintenance.

“I am honored to serve as Round Rock ISD’s new Executive Director of Bonds,” Brook said. “I’ve seen firsthand how well-planned and well-executed facilities projects directly support student learning and staff success.”

As executive director of Bond Projects, he will oversee the construction and operations teams that will implement the work of voter-approved bond programs.

Brooks brings more than 25 years of maintenance experience, including most recently as the Director of Maintenance in Round Rock ISD, the Executive Director of Operations in Elgin ISD, and the Chief Operations Officer in Salado ISD.

“I am excited to bring my experience in long-range planning, construction, and maintenance to ensure that every bond dollar is invested wisely and transparently,” he said. “My goal is to deliver safe, modern, and innovative learning environments that meet the needs of our students today and into the future.”

Brooks has a bachelor's degree in applied arts and sciences with an emphasis in management, communications, marketing, and sociology from Lamar University.

Round Rock ISD’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, Dennis Covington, said he’s excited to have Brooks transition into a leadership role on the Bond Projects team.

“I’m looking forward to what Mr. Brooks will bring to the department,” Covington said. “His experience provides the district with a great team leader who will work with our other Bond Projects positions to make sure we are progressing in our Bond programs while being good stewards of taxpayer dollars.”

Brooks' official start date was Aug. 25, 2025.
