Be Kind ECHS Bracelet

Round Rock ISD’s Early College High School (ECHS) has been named a Certified Kindness School by the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, recognizing the campus’s commitment to fostering compassion, respect, and empathy.

To earn the designation, Early College High School students and staff participated in a variety of lessons and activities centered around kindness. From painting kindness rocks and making friendship bracelets to creating anti-bullying signs around campus, students have found big and small ways to make their peers feel seen and supported.

Much of that effort has been led by the school’s No Place for Hate/Kindness Club, along with the “Nest” class, where students build a sense of belonging through social-emotional learning activities.

Robin Foerester, sponsor of the initiative, said getting the designation is important to ECHS.

“We like to support each other and give students tools that prepare them for life,” she said. “The more opportunities we can give our students to lead and take ownership of our campus culture through these activities, the more they step up and show us how amazing they can be.”

Teachers and staff have also joined the work by incorporating kindness into their classrooms and professional development.

Assistant Principal Angelica Ross said the recognition reflects the spirit of the whole school community.

“This designation shows how our students and staff are working together to make kindness an everyday part of our campus,” she said. “We are proud of the work we’ve done and are excited to continue building on it this year.”
