Dear Round Rock ISD Community,
A safe and positive learning environment lays the foundation for every student’s sense of belonging and success.
This October, during Bullying Prevention Month, we reaffirm that commitment by promoting kindness, respect, and inclusion across all our campuses. Creating safe and positive learning environments takes all of us working together to ensure every child feels seen, valued, and free to be themselves. When we stand united against bullying, we build schools where everyone belongs.
Our district takes a proactive approach to bullying prevention by focusing on education, awareness, and accountability at every level. From early primary through secondary grades, campuses implement programs that promote healthy relationships and positive school culture. Each school maintains a prevention and wellness committee, provides regular student instruction on kindness and connection, and encourages open reporting of concerns. Through student surveys, data monitoring, and clear response rubrics, we ensure our actions align with our wraparound services to ensure that every child has access to the resources and relationships they need to succeed.
Our bullying prevention videos feature Awa-Susan Currier, a 2025 Westwood High School graduate and current UT Austin student. As a member of VOICE, Round Rock ISD’s high school student leadership group, Awa-Susan and other VOICE students provided thoughtful feedback on how to better engage students in meaningful conversations about bullying prevention. She does an outstanding job in the videos, which are being shared with students across our campuses.
Bullying Prevention!
What is bullying?
What bullying is not!
Allyship and reporting.
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, our district is proud to participate in Unity Day. We encourage all students and staff to wear orange as a unified display of support for a bully-free community. Wearing orange is a simple but powerful way to show that every student deserves to feel safe, supported, and included. Let’s unite to spread kindness and stand against bullying! You can learn more about Round Rock ISD's bullying prevention policies and efforts on our website.
I also want to take a moment to recognize two more important October observances in education — National Principals Month and Dyslexia Awareness Month.
We are deeply grateful for our incredible principals whose leadership, compassion, and dedication create thriving learning environments across our district. I also want to honor our students with dyslexia and the educators who support them every day, ensuring that every learner is seen, understood, and given the tools to succeed.
Thank you for continuing to make Round Rock ISD a place where every student feels valued and supported.
