Round Rock ISD schools continue to demonstrate academic excellence, with several campuses earning top spots in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best Elementary and Middle Schools rankings.
Cactus Ranch Elementary is the only school in the Austin area to place in the statewide top 10, coming in 10th place. The Longhorns climbed eight spots from its 2025 ranking, solidifying their reputation for exceptional student achievement.
Laurel Mountain Elementary also moved up the rankings, jumping 31 places to break into the statewide top 25 at number 22.
Several other Round Rock ISD elementary campuses were ranked among the state’s top performers, including Canyon Creek Elementary and Patsy Sommer Elementary School.
Round Rock ISD middle schools also earned recognition, with Canyon Vista Middle School becoming the only local middle school to place among the top 25 middle schools statewide.
