A message from Dr. Hafedh Azaiez, Superintendent of Schools

Dear Round Rock ISD community,

Happy New Year, and welcome back.

We're starting the year by celebrating a new chapter! I had the privilege of starting the semester at Early College High School, welcoming students and staff into their permanent building.

It was a joy to welcome them to this inspiring new space. Then, earlier this week, we hosted an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by guided tours of the new school. These moments give our community a unique opportunity to see firsthand the work and care that go into our campuses.

These seven locally elected volunteer community members give tirelessly to support staff and ensure students enjoy an outstanding education and a promising future. They devote countless hours each month to reading school board packets, analyzing school finance reports, participating in school events, and hearing and resolving concerns.

January is also National Mentoring Month, and we celebrate the powerful impact mentors have on students at all levels. Mentored students show better attendance, improved attitudes toward school, and the confidence to make positive life choices. Being a mentor is a heartfelt way to support a student while gaining a rewarding experience yourself. Visit our mentor program website to learn how you can make a difference.

I’m proud to be part of our extraordinary district. Each day is a privilege, and I deeply value the work we do together, helping our students become the best versions of themselves. Wishing you health, joy, and prosperity in the New Year.
