Dear Round Rock ISD Community,
Thanks to the experience and collaboration of our educators, students, families, and community, our students benefit from a learning environment full of connection, celebration, and endless possibilities.
Our schools traditionally and consistently celebrate the people, traditions, and achievements that shape our community today, including Black History Month, Lunar New Year, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month happening now.
Black History Month is commemorated in our schools with assemblies, art, music, dance, and guest speakers. Lunar New Year, the year of the horse, begins on Tuesday, Feb. 17, and similarly, our students participate in activities and lessons celebrating one of the world’s oldest traditional celebrations.
Gattis Elementary School's Black History Night featured Stony Point IB World High School's Step Dance Team, and the fifth-grade sang songs inspired by Black artists. The hallway displays student art, and the library features cultural stories.
CTE makes learning hands-on and exciting, connecting students to careers while they gain valuable skills before they even graduate. Round Rock ISD CTE offers over 100 courses and serves more than 14,000 middle and high school students who earn thousands of industry-based certifications annually. These industry-based certifications equip our students with real-world credentials, helping them accelerate their college journey or step confidently into the workforce after high school.
Round Rock ISD has been named a 2026 Career and Technical Education (CTE) District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas for the second year in a row. This honor recognizes our district’s continued innovation, dedication and excellence in advancing career and technical education.
Finally, we celebrate our 140 certified school counselors for National School Counselor Week. From social and emotional well-being to academic and career guidance, our counselors work tirelessly to support every student.
Round Rock ISD schools are a special place. Every day, our students are supported, challenged, and inspired to explore their passions, embrace new opportunities, and reach their full potential. We are proud to be a community that celebrates achievement, honors diversity, and opens doors to endless possibilities for every learner.
Respectfully,
Dr. Hafedh "AZ" Azaiez
