The Central Texas Teen & Kids Comic Con will return to Round Rock High School on Feb. 28 for its ninth consecutive year. This annual event, hosted by Round Rock ISD Library Services, promises a day filled with superheroes, creators and more.
Sara Pavone, a librarian at Round Rock High School and the event’s founder, said her initial goal in creating the Central Texas Teen & Kids Comic Con was to support struggling student readers.
“I’m super excited about this year’s Comic Con,” she said. “Seeing what started as a small idea to encourage literacy in our community grow to be one of the largest events in Round Rock ISD is so heartwarming to me as a librarian.”
The event has grown from about 2,000 in its first year to nearly 5,000 attendees in 2025.
Stephanie Inzana, director of library services at Round Rock ISD, said her favorite part of Comic Con is the way it brings students and families together.
“Our libraries have something for everyone, and all are welcome there - Comic Con is just one more way our librarians make sure everyone has a place where they can connect,” she said. “When we gather to explore our unique passions and celebrate creativity, we foster a strong sense of connection and belonging for everyone!”
Pavone said attendees can expect another exciting lineup of events and experiences this year.
“This year we have nearly 30 presenters, many of whom are award winning authors and artists,” said Pavone. “We’ll also have a special cosplay contest, and the 501st Legion and Saber Guild - Jakku Temple, both of which are worldwide Star Wars costuming organizations!”
The event is free and open to the public. Students from surrounding districts are welcome to attend. Visit the Central Texas Teen & Kids Comic Con website for more information and to reserve free tickets.
