Round Rock ISD is proud to have two staff members who have been awarded the 2026 Texas Association of School Business Officials RISE Award.
Assistant Director of Maintenance, Energy Management, Selina Tovar, and Director of Cusodial Services, Quincy Bland, were both named recipients of the annual RISE Award.
“I was both surprised and honored to be nominated for the RISE Award,” said Tovar. “I know that being a 2026 TASBO RISE recipient means I represent my teams in HVAC, electrical, plumbing and energy management and district with pride. I'm incredibly thankful to my teammates for allowing me to lead with purpose and to my mentors & colleagues for teaching me how. This recognition means a great deal to me, and I plan to continue to lead with excellence here in Round Rock ISD.”
The RISE Award recognizes a person whose early accomplishments within their career and TASBO distinguish them as future leaders in the profession. This new award aims to highlight individuals on the rise in the school business community.
"I am truly honored to be named a TASBO RISE Award recipient,” Bland explained. “This achievement reflects the collective efforts of our entire Custodial Services team, whose dedication and commitment make a daily impact in supporting our schools, students, and staff across Round Rock ISD. I am both grateful and humbled to be part of such a strong team and organization, and I look forward to continuing to serve and grow alongside them."
Round Rock ISD is the only district to have two recipients, a testament to how our district develops strong leaders who are not only specialists in their own departments but also support problem-solving and their teams, streamline procedures, and ensure the best possible outcomes for all requests that come through to them.
“The individuals who receive our RISE Award represent some of the brightest and most dedicated members in our ranks,” said Heather Wilson, TASBO’s 2025-26 Board President from College Station ISD.
The district is excited to celebrate and recognize Selina Tovar and Quincy Bland for their contributions to leadership and the positivity they bring to work every day.
