Hannah Parker has been named the new principal at Brushy Creek Elementary School, starting the 2026-27 school year.
Parker has several years of experience in educational administration and teaching. Most recently, she has served as the assistant principal at Brushy Creek since 2021.
During her time as assistant principal, Parker worked to advance student achievement, strengthen staff culture and enhance student and family engagement.
“I am beyond thrilled to be stepping into this role at a campus I know and love,” Parker said. “It is special to be able to say my first Assistant Principalship was at Brushy Creek, and now my first Principalship is as well. The community, staff and students at Brushy Creek are my family, and it is an incredible gift to continue serving. I've grown so much with this campus, and I am excited that the work, relationships, growth, and fun will continue!”
Prior to joining Brushy Creek in 2021, Parker served as a middle school special education teacher for nine years, including at Ridgeview Middle School.
Once she transitioned into the educational administration side, Parker led alongside her administrative team, focused on enhancing students’ sense of belonging, expanding family engagement and strengthening staff culture so teachers could focus on early literacy and numeracy.
Mya Mercer, area superintendent of the McNeil Vertical Learning Community, said she is excited to welcome Parker into this new position.
“I am thrilled to welcome Hannah Parker into her new role as principal of Brushy Creek,” Mercer said. “Having already served the campus with distinction as an assistant principal, she brings deep knowledge of the school community, along with strong leadership, clear vision and an unwavering commitment to student success. I am confident she will continue to build on Brushy Creek’s tradition of excellence and inspire both staff and students to reach even greater heights in the years ahead!
Parker holds bachelor's degrees in Spanish and special education from Vanderbilt University and a master's degree in education administration from UT Austin.
She will begin serving as principal in July.
