Dear Round Rock ISD Community,
This week is Teacher and School Nurse Appreciation Week, and I want to thank our incredible teachers and nurses for the care, dedication, and heart they bring each day as they support students’ learning and well-being.
During Teacher Appreciation Week, we are honored to celebrate our teachers of the year, paraprofessionals, and principals at our Round Rock ISD Excellence Awards. At the Excellence Awards, we announced our district’s Teachers and Principals of the Year.
Congratulations to Madison Fowler, kindergarten teacher at Brushy Creek Elementary School, and Dr. McKenzie Eggers, English teacher at Early College High School, who are our 2027 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year. These exceptional educators will now represent our district for Region 13 and, hopefully, State Teacher of the Year. I am overwhelmingly proud of Madison and McKenzie and wish them all the best as they enter this new and exciting phase in their careers.

We also recognized our Elementary and Secondary Principals of the Year, Brian Braudrick of Live Oak Elementary School and Donald Bosier of the Round Rock Opportunity Center. They were nominated by district leaders and chosen by their peers for their outstanding leadership, teamwork, and strong commitment to student success.

In my last letter, I recognized several of our remarkable staff members, highlighting that we have the very best public education team around. You can see excellence throughout our district by visiting our website, where you can meet all of our 2026–27 elementary and secondary Teachers and Paraprofessionals of the Year. Congratulations to each honoree. You represent the excellence we strive for as a district.
It’s a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated team. Thank you for everything you pour into our students each day, helping them grow and succeed now and in the future.
Happy Mother’s Day to everyone celebrating this weekend!
Respectfully,
Dr. Hafedh "AZ" Azaiez
Proud Superintendent of Schools
