The Round Rock ISD Fine Arts Department is proud to announce that two recent Texas distinctions have been awarded to its programs: the 2025-26 District of Distinction from the Texas Art Education Association and the District of Distinction, Outstanding District from the Texas Educational Theatre Association.
Round Rock ISD’s Fine Arts Director for Visual and Theater Arts, Tim Lowke, is thrilled to receive this award.
“I’m honored for our district’s fine arts program to be recognized in this way, eight years in a row! This would not be possible without the amazing team of educators we have at our campuses,” Lowke said. “Each visual arts faculty member is appreciated for their work with students and the support and assistance in achieving this distinction.”
The TAEA District of Distinction is Round Rock ISD’s eighth consecutive year receiving this award, which is given to districts for providing a well-rounded education that advocates for and integrates visual arts curriculum to inspire creativity, placing the district’s fine arts program in the top 1.3% of all programs in the state.
As the district’s fine arts programs continue to excel across all areas, the Texas Educational Theatre Association recognized the phenomenal work of the theatre programs in the 2025-26 school year, with Round Rock ISD earning another district distinction for the fourth consecutive year.
“Our theatre programs across our district have been flourishing from elementary school to our veteran student performers in high school,” Lowke said. "I’m extremely proud of this distinction and of the many campus recognitions that were also received from TxETA for their dedicated work in their theatre arts program. Our staff really helps our students and programs grow into some of the best!"
The district had seven schools that received recognition from TxETA as well.
