Latoya Easter has been named the new principal for Round Rock ISD’s Opportunity Center and Elementary DAEP. Easter brings 13 years of educational leadership experience, most recently as the assistant principal at the district’s Elementary DAEP since March 2025.

Easter began her career as an assistant principal at Alvin ISD and continued in educational leadership as a principal of Eastview High School in Georgetown and a principal of Four Points Middle School in Leander ISD. 

She is excited to step into this new role and continue her work with students in the district.

"It is an incredible honor to step into this role and continue serving a district and community that I care deeply about,” she said. “My greatest hope is that every student who comes through our programs feels seen, supported and reminded that one moment does not define their future.” 

Easter’s goal is to continue to lead students and staff towards success, even when it seems most challenging. 

“I want us to build on the strong work already happening while creating even more meaningful pathways for students, families and staff to experience growth, connection and success,” she said. “I believe there is something powerful ahead for this team, and I am excited to be part of what we will build together.”

In her most recent role with the district, Easter focused on leading with positivity. She can transform complex challenges into sustainable systems that improve academic achievement, strengthen educator effectiveness, reduce disciplinary recidivism, and foster positive school culture. 

“I am excited to announce Dr. Easter as the Principal of the Opportunity Center and Elementary DAEP,” Zac Oldham, Westwood area superintendent, said. “Latoya brings a wealth of experience leading campuses at multiple levels as well as incredible work at the district’s Elementary DAEP campus. Under Dr. Easter's leadership, the Elementary DAEP has lowered our recidivism rate to just 2% in her tenure!”

Easter holds a bachelor’s degree in literary studies from the University of Houston-Central and both a master’s degree and a doctorate in administration and leadership from Grand Canyon University.

Her first day with the district was August 5.
