The bond team has been busy working with campuses and the district to move forward with some of the bond projects from the 2024 Bond.

Here are some of the summer updates:

• The first phase of the interior refresh projects at Bluebonnet and Grisham are scheduled to be completed on time, before the start of the school year. 

• Marquees were installed at Bluebonnet, Callison, Chandler Oaks, Chisholm Trail, Deep Wood, Gattis, Hopewell, Robertson and Union Hill.

• Roofing replacements are nearing completion at Blackland Prairie, Cedar Valley, Gattis and Pond Springs. 

• Cedar Valley is expected to be completed on time, before students arrive back to campus. Blackland Prairie, Gattis and Pond Springs roofing projects will extend into the first few weeks of the school year, with a very limited presence on-site during instructional time. 

• Solicitations for MS football field turf conversion have been published for Canyon Vista, Chisholm Trail, Hopewell, Hernandez, Pearson Ranch and Walsh.

• The track, turf and scoreboard were replaced at Dragon Stadium. This project will be delivered on schedule, allowing us to have the scoreboard operational for the first football game of the season. 

• Crews broke ground at the CTE Center/Spectrum and Support Services buildings. 

• Interior demo completed at McNeil. 

• Technology deployed 12,730 units across 55 campuses, including: 10,997 Chromebooks, 234 mobile iPad carts and 55 network routers.

• Round Rock High School has hosted two stakeholder meetings to inform the conceptual design phase, with one more on Aug. 4. These meetings were open to a select group of stakeholders, including Round Rock High School faculty, staff, families, campus leadership, district leadership, CPCOC and CBC members. Prior to the final meeting, our architects will meet with football and band students to gather feedback to incorporate into the design as the project continues to evolve.

• Berkman, Bluebonnet, Forest North, Grisham, Gattis, Purple Sage and Voigt received interior upgrades (e.g., walls, paint, flooring, ceiling, restrooms). Westwood saw the completion of its track and tennis courts.

• Cedar Valley’s summer work included roofing replacements and an interior refresh of its dance classroom.

• Berkman, C.D. Fulkes, Great Oaks, McNeil and Stony Point will continue construction into the school year.

• Staff, families and students have been notified of changes to site circulation due to construction. Project managers and construction department staff members will be present at our construction-impacted campuses during the first week of school to address any problems or challenges that may arise.

Additionally, the bond team is coordinating with district police to assist during the first week with site circulation, traffic flow and helping our families safely navigate campuses.
