A message from Dr. Hafedh Azaiez, Superintendent of Schools

Dear Round Rock ISD Community,

What a great start to a new school year! Everywhere I go, I see the excitement that comes with being back together: students reconnecting with friends, teachers welcoming familiar faces, and new friendships forming.

Families and staff who have been part of Round Rock ISD know what makes this district special: exceptional educators, supportive parents, outstanding programs, and a strong sense of belonging where students are known and encouraged to excel and achieve greatness.

If you’re new to Round Rock ISD, welcome! We’re so glad you’re here. As you get to know our schools and our people, I hope you’ll quickly see why so many families choose to call Round Rock ISD home and why we’re proud to be a premier public school district in Central Texas.

Take a look at a few of the moments that made the start of school so special in our first day video. And here are a few photos from our first days back.

Over the summer, bond work was in full swing across our district. Our crews hit the ground running as soon as summer began, completing dozens of projects just in time to welcome students and staff back. From interior refreshes at campuses like Forest North and athletic upgrades at Dragon Stadium to districtwide technology improvements and breaking ground on new learning spaces at McNeil, this summer’s work is helping create better spaces and experiences for our students and staff.

Our construction team shared a quarterly update with the Board this week, highlighting what was accomplished this summer and what’s ahead.

I hope you’ll join us tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for our Back 2 School event at Cedar Ridge High School. Come celebrate the new school year and enjoy performances, book giveaways, fun hands-on activities, and free services, including immunizations, vision & hearing screenings, and more. We also have an amazing PTA you can join! Be sure to stop by their table in the large gym to learn more and get connected.

Thank you for choosing Round Rock ISD. Your confidence in our schools means so much, and I’m looking forward to a wonderful year filled with opportunities for our students.
