One Badge
Beginning this school year, Round Rock ISD is introducing One Badge, a new student ID system that supports our ongoing commitment to campus safety. Students across all grade levels will use their One Badge to help staff quickly identify students and strengthen daily safety practices.
This new system is one more way we are working to create safe, welcoming campuses where students can focus on learning and success. Take a closer look!
Bullying
Every student deserves to feel safe, respected and a sense of belonging in our schools. Round Rock ISD's FFI (Local) - Student Welfare: Freedom from Bullying policy specifically includes identity-based bullying, reinforcing our commitment to addressing all forms of bullying and harassment.
This recognizes that students’ identities are an important part of who they are and that every student should have the opportunity to learn and grow in an environment where they feel supported.
By promoting kindness, respect and inclusion, we continue working toward a school community where every student can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
David's Law
David’s Law (Senate Bill 179) strengthens protections against cyberbullying by making certain forms of electronic harassment against students under age 18 a Class A misdemeanor. The law applies to cyberbullying through text messages, social media, websites or other electronic communication when there is intent to cause serious harm, including self-harm.
The law requires school districts to include cyberbullying in their bullying policies, to notify parents when their child is involved in a reported bullying incident, and to investigate reports of cyberbullying. Schools may also work with law enforcement when appropriate.
Anonymous Reporting
Students, families, and staff can report safety concerns through the district's Anonymous Reporting system, which provides a secure, completely anonymous way to report bullying, cyberbullying, depression, dating violence, drug or alcohol use, threats against the school, weapons on campus, and other concerns so they can be reviewed and addressed promptly.
Bus safety reminders
Help your student start and end the day safely by arriving at the bus stop at least five minutes early and waiting at least three giant steps (six feet) away from the curb. Remind students that bus stops are not places to run or play. Students should wait until the bus comes to a complete stop, the door opens, and the driver gives permission before approaching the bus.
Drivers should slow down and prepare to stop when a school bus displays yellow flashing lights. When red flashing lights and the stop arm are extended, Texas law requires all vehicles to stop and remain stopped until the lights stop flashing, the stop arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving.

Pedestrian safety tips
Pedestrian safety is especially important for students, as distractions from phones, headphones and other devices can increase risk while walking or crossing streets.
Remind students to:
🚶 Look left, right and left again before crossing, and continue watching for traffic until safely across.
📱 Put away phones, headphones and devices while crossing streets.
🚦 Use sidewalks, crosswalks and traffic signals whenever possible. If sidewalks are unavailable, walk facing traffic and as far to the left as possible.
🌙 Stay visible by wearing bright or reflective clothing and walking in well-lit areas.
👀 Make eye contact with drivers before crossing in front of vehicles.
Adults can help set the example by following the same safety habits they teach students.
Clear bag policy
We enforce clear bag policies at all large-scale district events held at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex and Dragon Stadium. These include varsity football games, band marching contests, and other highly attended events. Clear bag policies are in effect for Board of Trustees meetings and as needed at our performing arts center and auditoriums.
Bags that are permitted include:
Bags that are clear plastic and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
Small clutch bags or purses that do not exceed the size of a hand
Bags not permitted include:
Backpacks, printed pattern plastic bags, fanny packs, purses, reusable grocery totes, mesh or straw bags, duffle bags, large totes, camera or binocular cases.
Diaper bags are not allowed. Items normally carried in a diaper bag must be placed in a clear plastic bag for entry to the venue.
